BACKGROUND INFORMATION

I was born in West Bromwich and for 22 years was the organiser of the West Bromwich Carnival raising thousands of pounds for local charities.

For four years I served as a Councillor on the West Bromwich Council on housing, finance and education committees.

I was employed in the marketing department of Lucas Industries for eleven years and in Personnel and Training for four years.

For three years I was the personnel officer at the Youthskill Training Agency in Birmingham as part of the YTS.

Joy and I joined the Stars News Shops organisation in 1985  as store managers at one of their Wolverhampton stores. We later managed stores in Walsall, Oldbury and finally moved to manage the Eccleshall store. During the time we were with the Stars organisation we were also trainer managers working with people new to retailing.

I have been a member of the Eccleshall Parish Council for over 28 years serving on most of the committees and chaired the Traffic Management Committee.

I have served as the council’s chairman and am currently chairman of the council and chairman of the Policy & Resources Committee.

I was elected a a member of the Stafford Borough Council in 2011 and for four years served as a member of Planning Committee. And re-elected to the council in 2015 and 2019.

For 12 months I was the Mayor of Stafford Borough Council from 2015 - 2016 with my wife Joy serving as Mayoress.
I was elected to serve as the deputy Mayor for five years from 2018 - 2023

I was re-elected to serve the people of Eccleshall again on 4th May 2023 for the forth term of four years.

ECCLESHALL GUIDE

For 26 years I have produced the 80 page Eccleshall Guide booklet including editing and getting together the advertising which pays for its free distribution in the area. It is made possible by the generous support of the advertiser

ECCLESHALL FESTIVAL

With the help of a committee of volunteers I have coordinated the Festival in the town for the past 14 years.

BUSINESS FOCUS GROUP

I was a  founder member and chairman of the Eccleshall Business Focus Group.

ECCLESHALL PARISH COUNCIL

I am a member of the Eccleshall Parish Council. I was the council’s chairman for the past four years 2019-2023  

Peter as President of the Stafford Rotary Club in 2014 - 2015.
He was also the President of the Eccleshall Rotary Club in 2002 - 2003
